RLSALLWTR RELEASE ALL WRITERS TAAPRTL

The Release All Writers command releases all writers using generated
RLSWTR system commands. A single writer, a generic name, or all
writers may be released. An ACTION parameter allows either *CHECK or
*RELEASE. RLSALLWTR can assist when bringing the system up after a
full or partial shutdown. You must have *JOBCTL special authority to
use RLSALLWTR. See the companion tool HLDALLWTR.

 A typical command would be:

               RLSALLWTR WTR(*ALL) ACTION(*RELEASE)

All writers on the system would be released. A spooled file would be
 displayed with the results.

RLSALLWTR escape messages you can monitor for

       TAA9893 No writers exist.

Escape messages from based on functions will be re-sent.

 RLSALLWTR Command parameters *CMD
 ----------------------------

WTR The name of the writer to be released. A specific
name, a generic name, or the special value *ALL may
                  be entered.

OPTION The option to be taken for how to resume writing.

*CURRENT is the default to resume where the writer
                  left off.

*BEGIN may be specified to begin at the file that
                  was being written.

*BYPASS may be specified to bypass the file that was
being written and start at the next file. The file
that was being written is implicitly held.

ACTION The action to be taken.

*CHECK is the default which does not cause any
changes. The listing describes what would have
happened if *RELEASE had been specified.

*RELEASE may be entered to release the specified
                  writers.

OUTPUT How to output the results. * is the default to
display the spooled file if the command is entered
interactively. The spooled file is deleted after it
                  is displayed.

If the command is entered in batch or *PRINT is
specified, the spooled file is output and retained.
