RPLEDTD REPLACE EDIT DESCRIPTION TAASYTH

The Replace Edit Description command uses the outfile created by
CVTEDTD to replace one or all of the Edit Descriptions (5-9) in QSYS.
A specific Edit Description (or all) are deleted and then the values
from the CVTEDTD outfile are used to create the new Edit
Descriptions. The command is helpful in moving a standard set of
 Edit Descriptions to other systems.

You must have *ALLOBJ authority to use RPLEDTD.

You must have first used CVTEDTD to create the outfile EDTDP.

To replace all Edit Descriptions, you would specify:

             RPLEDTD LIB(xxx)

where the library contains the EDTDP file.

One or more records must exist in EDTDP for the command to process.

For the named (or all) Edit Description:

** DSPEDTD is used to print the old version if it exists.

** The existing Edit Description is deleted.

** The new Edit Description is created from the EDTDP data.

** DSPEDTD is used to print the new Edit Description.

Use of CVTEDTD/RPLEDTD on the same system
 -----------------------------------------

Some users may want to capture a good version of the Edit Description
entries for a possible later use if the entries become damaged or
need to be reset. The use of CVTEDTD to save the existing
definitions will allow you to use RPLEDTD if it is ever needed.

RPLEDTD escape messages you can monitor for
