UNLOAD          UNLOAD A DEVICE                        TAATAPU

 The Unload  a Device  command provides  a simple function  to ensure  a
 device  is  unloaded for  a  *TAP device  (virtual  or real).    If the
 command  completes successfully  and unloads  the device  or the device
 is  not in  a  ready  status  (the status  if  already  unloaded),  the
 command  completes   normally.    Different   completion  message  text
 describes  the  condition.   The command  may  be helpful  when several
 save commands are used  in a CL  program and it  is not known what  the
 device condition is at the end.

 The tape must be initialized.

 A typical command would be:

              UNLOAD

 The device defaults to TAP01.

 UNLOAD escape messages you can monitor for
 ------------------------------------------

 None.  Escape messages from based on functions will be re-sent.

 UNLOAD Command parameters                             *CMD
 -------------------------

    DEV           The device name.  The default is TAP01.


 Restrictions
 ------------

 Only *TAP devices (virtual or real) are supported.

 The tape must be initialized.

 Prerequisites
 -------------

 The following TAA Tools must be on your system:

      SNDCOMPMSG      Send completion message
      SNDESCINF       Send escape information
